Welcome to the Kitsap County HIPAA Transaction Standards Compliance Page!

Kitsap County is responsible for certain health plan operations where care is provided to inmates of the County Jail and the County Detention Center. Healthcare providers who furnish care and are reimbursed for their services by the County have the right to request to do business electronically with the County.

The two standard transactions that apply to Kitsap County Health Plan operations are the claim and claim payment transactions. If any healthcare provider would like to send electronic claims to Kitsap County or receive an electronic remittance advice using the government mandated HIPAA Transaction Standards, they should contact MMIec at contact@mmiec.com.

MMIec acts as the outsourced Ecommerce Department for Kitsap County. An email to contact@mmiec.com will initiate a process that will allow appropriate testing and conversion from paper-based claims processing to an electronic replacement.
