Marcia L. McLure, Ph.D., Principal

Dr. McLure is a member of ANSI ASC X12 and the former Co-Chair of the X12N Healthcare Transactions Steering Work Group and former Co-Chair of the Medical Stop Loss Work Group. She has provided EDI strategic plan consulting, education, and practical implementation assistance to claims payers, providers, and professional associations including The Pacific Business Group on Health and the Aerospace Industry Association.

Dr. McLure's articles on HIPAA and EDI have appeared in EDI Forum, EDI World, Healthcare Interchange REPORT Magazine, and Healthcare Financial Management. Together with James J. Moynihan, Dr. McLure is the co-author of EDI: A Guide To Electronic Data Interchange and Electronic Commerce Applications in the Healthcare Industry, published by Irwin Professional Publishing, a McGraw-Hill Company, and the Healthcare Financial Management Association. Her doctoral dissertation "Characteristics Associated with Entrepreneurial Success", was published by UMI Press (Ann Arbor, 1990). She is a contributor to the ADA/WEDI Dental Implementation Guideline for the Health Care Claim Standard (837).

In addition to her consulting experience, Dr. McLure has served as an instructor, lecturer and assistant professor at several major universities across the country including University of California at Los Angeles. Dr. McLure received her BS degree from Loyola University of the South, New Orleans, her MS degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and her Ph.D. degree from UCLA in research and evaluation with a focus on management and policy.
